Great webinar, and it was easy to follow along.
This service has really user-friendly interface, simple video creation BUT their censorship is extreme. They allow nothing. It's really hard to follow their rules. Every generated video goes to manual moderation and you have to wait until their censor check your every single word - if it's correct for them or not. It's a non-sense because you can further extract sound and make a new but what I paid for? For their moderation team? For their limitations? Let me verify my business and prove that it's legal and let me work. No. They're not interested - they like their clients survive with their moderation. They just spoiled the wonderful service with such a bad behavior. I don't recommend.
I want to write an honest and fair comment. The fact is, I haven't even spent a single minute working with this program. I’ll tell you why: first, there is no 4K resolution; second, they are expensive—at least twice as expensive as other similar companies; and third, the platform's setup is complicated for a beginner. In light of this, I believe the price they are asking for this service is not just a little, but significantly overpriced.
It's 'good enough' for making training videos. It's common for properly-functioning features to stop working, so the double checking goes beyond the expected (for translation quality, placement of elements within the video, etc) and you need to make sure the player actually has all of your translations inside of it, ensure that alternative workflows work in the same way, and I speak with support almost daily. It was easier to use when the platform was simpler. I get the feeling that they push new developments too hard and forget about the existing ones, so things which used to work suddenly stop working and it's a constant cat-and-mouse.
I was attempting to use the free trial. Only after I divulged my details did it tell me that it only works in Edge and Chrome, which is pretty annoying. They could have told me this before asking for my details, and I could have made the informed decision not to use their platform, and not to disclose my email address.
The app is difficult to use, and creating avatars is complicated. It isn’t available in Italian either. The interface is not intuitive, and even simple tasks require too many steps. Finally, it’s also quite expensive.I wasted my money for nothing.
I enjoy listening to new options and ideas for Synthesia training development. Sessions are always interesting and valuable to listen in on. Nice work by the presenters.
I enjoyed the session on the tools and how best to utilise them for a good video. Thank you for adding most (if not all) of the languages and avatars. Easy to customise communication to the right audience and appeal to them.
Evaluating Synthesia was an exercise in frustration before I even generated a single second of video. The advertised free trial was completely unavailable from the start. Support was paywalled behind an account gate, forcing me to create a basic account just to ask why the trial was inaccessible. Once connected, support insisted the trial was free, yet the system repeatedly demanded immediate payment details to proceed. What should have been a standard signup devolved into a chaotic, one-hour ordeal on live chat. I was passed between multiple agents, forced to retry across broken screens, and given conflicting directions. While they eventually resolved the technical glitch, the complete lack of customer appreciation was insulting: after wasting an hour of my time to help them debug their broken funnel, they didn’t even offer a simple discount code or goodwill gesture to an already loyal customer willing to stick it out. The platform quit working before it ever worked.
Sometimes the emotion and emphasis is horrible and there is no way to correct it. I use text a to speech AI that allows me to nail the emphasis, but unfortunately synthesia will not import it into my video. Sometimes I end up downloading the synthesia video and replacing part of it with the voice track and a still image just because the synthesia generated audio is so bad.
The speaker was very friendly; she expressed herself clearly and in a way that was easy to understand during the presentation.
The Article 50 Overview both gave a good recap of what was in the law, what i had to do to comply, and the risks (3% annual revenue?!?!) if we didn't do things correctly. Having a resource like Alex from legal gave me confidence the info was legit and it was reassuring that Synthesia was involved in shaping and consulting on the law. The 'how to' section was super clear - feel ready to tag things I've made and keep the company compliant!
they control what you can create and will block you, they are a scam
Absolute joke. Every video I'm trying to create for NHS England which the content has been clinically approved by NHS experts, is being rejected by Synthesia saying it's inaccurate. Get a grip Synthesia, and I strongly advise people to use Collossyan instead, so you don't have these ridiculous issues.
I wish the company were called Amnesia so I could forget my experience with them and the $11,000 that was mostly a waste of money. The problems began early. The avatar I generated of myself had mispronunciations of industry-specific terms that we were never able to fix even after requesting Synthesia's help. That ruled out using the avatar of me for most of our intended uses because the mispronunciations would have me looking like an idiot to anyone in my industry. That left me without the key reason I invested $11K in the system which was to have a custom avatar of myself (as company spokesperson) where my team could produce videos using Synthesia instead of my having to go into the studio every time we needed something. I complained to Synthesia but to no avail. After all they had my money and being only $11K its hardly something I could bring a legal action to demand. So I wrote off the investment in my mind. Then I found myself in a pinch needing a quick video intro of a guest on a webinar my company was hosting when I was out of the office and away from our recording studio. The intro script did not have any of the words Synthesia was having trouble pronouncing so I was hopeful. I uploaded the script...hit the button to produce the two minute video...and instead of my video I received a message refusing to produce my video because Synthesia did not like the content. Stating that in some way I "violated their content moderation policies" and directing me a large list of potential reasons the system was refusing to produce the footage. I could not decipher Synthesia's issue from the systems automated response. My script was not vulgar or controversial in any way and I was left wondering why Synthesia was injecting itself into a video of an avatar of me. It was an odd response firstly because I was simply introducing a guest on a webinar recording I was hosting. Second who on earth is Synthesia to "moderate" a video of an avatar of me? Such arrogance and gall to refuse to produce a video with my own image because they think they need to moderate my content was infuriating. I invested $11,000 to produce video footage of the avatar of me, not for them to put themselves in the position of arbiter of my content. And continuing their arrogant behavior the system offered to rewrite my content to make it comply with their rules, and according them make it even better. That is equal parts laughable and annoying. Synthesia does not know my "voice" or our brand standards, or style. And what Synthesia created when I allowed them to offer a proposed rewrite was unusable. So if you are looking for a custom avatar or even to create sales videos with any of their avatars I suggest you look elsewhere. Unless you want a nanny-company deciding what you can have the avatar say. To be fair to the company we were able to produce quite a few good training videos and that was great, although even those our team wants to re-do because they think the AI generated videos of synthesia avatars have too many AI "tells" although still usable until we can get around to re-recording. But we paid Synthesia $11,000 looking to take some of my workload away by creating a custom avatar of me to accomplish that. But due to the mispronunciations and the "content moderation" in the end the custom avatar was unusable and the investment we made was a disappointment and mostly a waste of $11,000.
It was fairly easy to understand and nice to see all the different functions I actually missed and really needed. The host was very friendly, especially in the beginning when everyone was joining. I never really get seen in these chats so it was really nice to get a response. I just wish the time spent on the questions at the end was a bit longer, I really wanted to ask if we would get the recording of the session, I would have loved to show my collogues and boss as I want them to also join and invest into the app.
Best of the best Created an account for client's needs, and besides the good quality of the platform, when a problem arised regarding billing, synthesia and their support were eager to fix everything. so they have really high standards of customer support.
not as advertised and google recommend , very low quality image and not professional video maker for social media ads or post, strongly not recommended. waste of money
I enjoyed having the facilitator and also producers (extra facilitators to help answer questions). They were able to answer questions and supply resources where they were needed.
We’ve been using Synthesia to create educational videos for our students, and from a product perspective it’s excellent. The quality of the AI avatars, voices and overall platform has been a great asset to our business. Unfortunately, our experience with the monthly subscription model has been disappointing. Our plan includes a monthly allocation of credits. The issue is that if you don’t have enough credits remaining to generate a complete video, those credits become effectively unusable. At the end of the billing cycle, any unused credits are simply wiped, despite having been paid for. When we raised this with customer support, we were told to “make sure you use all your credits” or switch to an annual subscription. Unfortunately, that isn’t a practical solution. If the remaining balance isn’t enough to create another video, there is no way to use those credits before they expire. We have no objection to paying a premium for a month-to-month subscription. We simply believe customers should receive fair value for what they’ve paid for. Allowing a limited credit rollover, the ability to purchase only the shortfall required to complete a video, or even a small overdraft deducted from the following month’s credits would solve this issue and demonstrate a more customer-focused approach. We genuinely like the product and would happily continue using it long-term. However, the current credit policy leaves us feeling that we’ve paid for something we are not given a fair opportunity to use, which is disappointing for an otherwise outstanding platform.
Honestly, I've loved using Synthesia up until today. Since the switch from time-based usage to a credit system, the experience has become really frustrating. What wasn't made clear during the plan comparison is that if you don't use your credits in a given month—even if you continue paying for your subscription—they don't roll over. As a busy HR Manager, that's just not practical. I can't guarantee I'll have the time every single month to create videos, so losing credits I've paid for feels like poor value. What has really disappointed me, though, is the customer support. I have a deliverable due today, and I've been waiting for nearly two hours for someone to help me resolve an issue so I can get it out the door. It's incredibly frustrating when you rely on a platform professionally and can't get timely support when you need it most.
Dure maar zeer beperkte software. Stemmen zijn heel onnatuurlijk en de avatars idem dito.
I've learned so much about how to use Synthesia and its many options to create engaging videos for my real estate business.
Very expensive and disappointing. I paid for the monthly plan and ran out of credits quickly when trying to generate videos. After that, I realized I would have to pay for a yearly subscription just to get around 6 hours of video generation. For the price, it feels way too limited and not worth it. The service is far too expensive for what it actually offers, and overall I had a terrible experience.
This is a crap site. I posted a college world series review and they flagged my video. I will be shooting a video explaining what cucks these fools are. Dont use them. Total censors for no reason it seems. Who is behind this crapy platform.
Spent all day learning the software and creating a video, just to find out the subject of the video cannot be published by Synthesia (educating paid affiliates). Would be nice if I could have received an error message or head’s up that the content I was working on would be rejected prior to spending hours on this. Hot tip - if it refuses to generate your video, just take a screen recording 👍 Thanks for nothing Synthesia. Could have drafted a PowerPoint and recorded myself in a fraction of the time
Getting started was smooth. I didn’t get that “where do I even begin?” feeling like I’ve had with some other tools. Within about an hour, I had the basics down and made my first video. My gut feeling is that this is one of those tools you can figure out without fighting it, and the learning curve felt really manageable. 0 Reply
I’ve been using it for a bit and overall it works really well. The only thing that caught me off guard was how fast the credits ran out. I thought my plan would last longer, but I ended up hitting the limits sooner than expected. 0 Reply
it just helps me get my work done faster without overthinking things 0 Reply
Maravillosa, ya hice muchos videos, gasta pocos créditos y mis clientes han estado muy conformes con el resultado, además siento.que es económica no consume muchos créditos, ideal para negocios pequeños
The custom options for videos are good, maybe even a little too flexible because I spent way too long messing with them like it was some life-or-death mission. It’s not perfect, and there are a few things I’d tweak, but overall it gives you a lot of room to customize. 0 Reply
Really great content, easy to understand and presented in an entertaining and upbeat style!
I’ve been using synthesia for a few work videos, and the amount of templates has been a big help. There are options for training videos, company updates, explainers, and even simple layouts when you don’t need anything fancy. I get the feeling they really want you to avoid starting from scratch, probably because that’s where most people waste the most time. Some templates still need a bit of tweaking to fit what I’m doing, but overall it makes the whole process way easier and less annoying. 0 Reply
My first reaction was that the avatars looked real. The faces and lip sync are better than I thought they’d be, and most of the time it works well enough that I don’t really notice it. Some expressions still look a little stiff here and there, but for my videos, I’d say it’s definitely good enough. 0 Reply
This is a great product, and the good news is the company is continuously working to make it better. I have been using it for almost two years, and everything has improved. This has been a godsend to my client who has asked me to produce healthcare-related training videos that may need to be updated frequently. They could never afford to do this with a real person. With Synthesia, if a policy changes it is just a couple of clicks to update the video. The avatars have been getting better and better. And you can make your own avatar from just a headshot! The closed captioning is a great feature, and I find the stock videos and photos plentiful. I can almost always find what I am looking for. The UI is excellent, and the learning curve is very short. It is simple, down and dirty editing and gets the job done. The interactive features have taken the software to the next level, allowing you to create more engaging trainings. I highly recommend!
Wow ... in app my important..my problem solved in app..
It was very informative.
Synthesia has consistently delivered a subpar user experience. The platform frequently suffers from technical issues, including bugs, unreliable scrolling behavior. Even when the system does function, the quality of the output remains problematic. The avatar’s body movements often appear exaggerated and unnatural, and the voice generation lacks consistency. In many cases, I find myself repeatedly refreshing the voice output in an attempt to produce something usable, and at times I have abandoned projects entirely due to these limitations. A key concern is the lack of meaningful control over both voice and presentation. This appears to stem from an assumption that the default automation performs adequately, which, in my experience, is not the case. While I have explored alternative platforms, I am still looking for a solution that offers both stability and greater user control, rather than simplifying the process at the expense of output quality. Other generators offer better experiences at the UI level and about the same quality overall on the ability to control motion or stitch frames together - that is, I haven't found one that actually works. I'll give Synthesia an extra star though for having multiple speaker capabilities (though I don't know if it works as I haven't had to use it yet).
Be very wary of their billing practices. I have an unexplained plan upgrade and I am struggling to get my money back. I have had to raise a dispute with my credit card company to recover the money.
Unfair affiliate practices and zero human support. I generated over $300 in real, paying customer commissions for Synthesia. Due to a minor keyword oversight in my campaign, they instantly permanently banned my account and confiscated 100% of my earnings without any prior warning. When I tried to reach out to their support and Head of Partnerships for a fair resolution or to request data logs under GDPR, I was met with complete silence and automated bot emails. They are quick to take your traffic, but will use any excuse in their TOS to keep your money. Affiliates and partners, stay away.
Generated $300+ in real commissions, but Synthesia perma-banned me and confiscated 100% of my money over a minor keyword oversight. Zero warnings, zero human support, and they ignored my GDPR data requests. They weaponize their TOS to steal from affiliates. Stay away!
I’ve used the voices for a few simple videos and they’re clear most of the time, but every now and then a line comes out sounding a bit stiff or robotic and it kind of pulls you out of it, so it works fine if you just need basic narration but I wouldn’t rely on it too much for anything that needs real emotion or a more natural feel. 0 Reply
J’ai payé 7€/ semaine. Je ne peux rien faire aucun accès. Arnaqueurs‼️‼️
Feels solid on the privacy side. Doesn’t make me worry about using it during work 0 Reply
Great tool , where you can use multiple AI features
Using the Powerpoint to Video route, I have been able to rapidly produce over 12 videos that contain my personal avatar so that "I" am narrating the video. Synthesia creates an incredible video. I look forward to trying other modalities within the platform soon.
The team (chatbot) is very responsive if I have a question. Set up was fairly easy & straightforward. I've tried a couple of other similar tools and I unsubscribed (they were less expensive but you get what you pay for!). The only issue I have is making my own avatar more realistic (syncing lips). I'd also like to see hand gestures in future for myself (without studio).
I’ve been using synthesia to make quick videos, and so far the safety checks seem reasonable. It looks like it blocks the kind of stuff that probably shouldn’t be made, but it hasn’t really slowed me down or gotten in the way much. Setup was straightforward, at least for me, and support was helpful when I ran into a small issue. 0 Reply
Synthesia speeds up video production for the marketing, training and promotional videos I create for clients. It has terrific text-to-speech capabilities which significantly speed up production time for videos that require voice-overs. I find Synthesia easy to use while providing professional results.
