Transparency comes first.

On their pricing page, they offer different plans based on traffic and explicitly state that Residential IPs are included in every plan. Naturally, you would assume that every call has a cost and that smaller traffic plans simply limit your overall capacity. However, after asking multiple times, support finally admitted the truth: residential proxies only work on the most expensive, unlimited plans. This crucial restriction is not mentioned anywhere on the pricing page. It feels misleading—drawing in customers on smaller plans (like the $19/mo VAT exluded) who then realize the feature they paid for is useless unless they upgrade to a much higher tier. Transparency and clarity build trust and long-term business; hiding limitations does the opposite. Rating: 2 stars. The platform works fine if you don't need residential proxies, but without them, the functionality is severely limited.

The best way to automate your business

I've been using Apify for scraping and data extraction for a while now, and it has become a core part of my automation workflows. The Actor Store saves a huge amount of time: there's almost always a ready-made Actor for what I need, and building my own is straightforward when there isn't. The n8n integration and the API are clean and reliable, and exporting datasets is hassle-free. Pay-as-you-go pricing is fair for small projects and scales well. One area for improvement: some third-party Actors are poorly maintained, so it's worth checking them before relying on them. Overall, highly recommended.

Very useful platform for web scraping and automation

I used Apify mainly for web scraping and data collection. Easy to use for scraping and performance insights

I use Apify for account scraping and information gathering, mainly for data and performance insights. It's easy to use, I can find what I need, and performance has been good. I also appreciate their generosity. The Actor and provider shop could be clearer, but overall I'm a fan. Great for lead lists, just watch the pricing

I run sales for a restaurant group and needed lists of offices and hotels in our delivery area. Used to do it by hand off Google Maps, which took hours and I usually gave up halfway. Picked a scraper off their store, typed in a search and a location, had a usable file in about twenty minutes. No coding. Only real gripe is the pricing. It's usage based and I couldn't tell what a run would cost before starting it, so I got a couple of bills I wasn't expecting. Set your memory and timeout limits early and you're fine. Running at about two new corporate bookings a month off it so far. Worth it for us.

I've been using Apify for a few months…

I've been using Apify for a few months almost daily and it's almost unreplaceable tool for me because it provides so many scrapers on one single platform. The main challenge is that sometimes you need to try around 5 different scrapper for a specific task to find the one that works without bugs and fits your workflow. The interface and naming of the tools could also be easier, I'm generally a technical person, but even for me it was a bit challenging to learn it at first.

A bit complex, but gives infinite opportunities for scraping

It's hard to understand what to start with, and output is often ugly, but once you integrate the tool with make or n8n, it flourishes. The Apify store gives you $5 each month, and that's enough to use many actors in the tool, mostly scrapers - I used ones for Reddit and LinkedIn. One of them broke down and I contacted the creator who fixed it within days. This means though that an actor should be reliable, as there are thousands of them in the store, and not all of them work.

I’ve had a very good experience

I’ve had a very good experience with Apify. It provides a lot of the infrastructure needed for web scraping in one place, including execution, scheduling, storage, proxies and API access. This makes it much easier to build and maintain scraping workflows without having to create everything from scratch. The Actor ecosystem is also very useful for testing ideas quickly. As usage grows, it is worth keeping an eye on execution costs and resource consumption, but overall it has been a very useful platform and has saved me a lot of development time.

MCP in Cursor actually runs my Actors

I use the Apify MCP server from Cursor to call my own Store Actors as tools. Setup on mcp.apify.com is simple: pin the Actor, install in Cursor, and the agent can fetch details and start runs without me pasting API snippets. Narrow pins matter. If you expose every tool, the model picks the wrong one. Once I pin a specific Actor, it behaves like a real tool — which is what I wanted as a developer (I publish as kondasviktor on the Store). The awkward part is repeating OAuth and config across Cursor, Claude, and Codex. Their CLI client helps if you live in more than one IDE. MCP does not replace Console, tests, or checking a dataset yourself. Useful if you already build on Apify and want agents to run scrapers, not just talk about them.

I've been using Apify for general web scraping and automation and it's honestly made my workflow so much easier. Powerful Automation Platform with a Strong Actor Ecosystem

Overall, I’ve had a good experience with Apify. My main frustration is with some LinkedIn actors. As LinkedIn has introduced more search limitations, the quality of results from several actors has noticeably declined. They often return many irrelevant or incorrect records that need additional filtering and manual processing, which increases downstream costs while actor pricing remains the same. I’d like to see developers adapt more actively to these changes, especially since there are currently few good alternatives.

Solid for Lead Generation.

Does well: Plain-language prompts to pull lead lists, used for mass mailing campaigns. Real estate due diligence, pulling property info and checking FEMA flood zones. Finding businesses for sponsorship outreach. Room for improvement: Manual MCP setup through developer settings was hard, a lot of back and forth getting the server URL configured. Adding new actors meant redoing the connection. Well suited for: Running scrapers for lead generation. Sits on top of ChatGPT or Claude as another way to do targeted work against online data.

Six scrapers live, no servers and no billing code

I publish six scrapers on Apify and sell them through the store. The platform hands me residential proxies, a real browser inside the container and metered billing, so I never rented a server or wrote a line of payment code. Runs go out on schedule every night and I read one summary in the morning. Two things annoy me. I see the statuses of customer runs but never their logs, so I debug other people's failures blind. And the proxy pool sometimes rejects a site for a whole window, which costs me a night of data.

You cant bother with visiting all the websites. LLM is too expensive. Apify is the middle ground.

Many services block bot access to their content. This is a problem for me in my business, in which i have to investigate trends & get analytics from many websites. Apify helps me bypass this problem, thanks to its actors and lets me build my own actor, all of which runs on resident proxies. And it is dirt cheap.
